The SHINE project has entered a new stage of implementation with the start of Work Package 4 (WP4).
After completing the main capacity building activities under WP3 — including teacher training, job-shadowing in the Basque Country and the development of the digital learning platform — the project now moves into real classroom testing with learners.
From Development to Implementation
WP4 focuses on piloting the SHINE Solar Energy VET programme in partner institutions. The digital platform and training materials developed during previous phases are now being tested directly with students in:
Suame Technical Institute (Ghana)
Jobitech (Nigeria)
Teachers who participated in the earlier training and mobility activities are leading the implementation process in their own institutions, ensuring continuity between design, training and classroom application.

Why This Phase Matters
The testing phase is essential to validate the programme under real training conditions. It allows the project consortium to:
Assess how the digital platform performs with learners
Observe how the training model works in workshop environments
Collect structured feedback from both teachers and students
Identify areas for improvement and adaptation
This stage marks the transition from preparation to implementation and ensures that the SHINE programme remains practical, relevant and aligned with labour market needs.
What Comes Next
The insights gathered during WP4 will inform further refinement of the platform and training materials. This will strengthen the programme before wider dissemination and potential uptake by additional institutions.
With WP4 underway, SHINE continues to progress according to its planned timeline, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening green, digital and entrepreneurial skills within Vocational Education and Training systems in Africa.
